Former India pacer Jhulan Goswami is elated after joining the Mumbai Indians women's team as a bowling coach and mentor and wants to continue MI's winning legacy in the Women's Premier League (WPL). Former England Women's captain Charlotte Edwards will be the head coach of the team, while former India all-rounder Devieka Palshikaar will be the batting coach and Trupti Chandgadkar Bhattacharya has been appointed as the team manager.
A Padma Shri and Arjuna awardee, Goswami is widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers of all time. In a 20-year career, she scored 350 international goals. She holds the record for most wickets in women's ODI history as well as most wickets in Women's World Cups. "Hello, Paltan. I am very happy to join the Mumbai Indians women's team as the bowling coach and mentor. I'm really looking forward to working with the girls, with Charlotte and Devieka by my side. MI has always had a winning mentality and we will be looking to carry on that legacy. See you soon," Jhulan Goswami, team mentor, and bowling coach said.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Edwards said she was delighted and honored to join the MI family. Edwards, who had a 20-year career and captained England to ODI and T20I World Cup victories, added that she was looking forward to working with Jhulan and Devieka in the WPL.
